Abstract

      Through our study of financial management in Ibn Maysar's book Al-Muntaqa min Akhbar Misr (The Selected News of Egypt) from 677 AH/ 1278 AD, we must point out that Ibn Maysar used many different sources to construct his historical material by quoting from sources and taking care to mention evidence from books to prove his accounts. His book is one of the most important historical sources for Fatimid studies. It is an almanac that focuses on events that took place each year and also touches on many financial terms in his book , including spoils of war.
