The Holy Qur’an contains numerous descriptions of various creatures. Among these descriptions is the term dakhūr, which refers to yielding and submitting to the command of Allah Almighty with humility and disgrace.
Allah, Glorified and Exalted, describes all of His creation in the Qur’an as prostrating to Him, including their shadows, and all are humble and obedient before Him. The Qur’an also informs us that people will be driven from their graves to the land of reckoning in humiliation, disgrace, and brokenness, as well as during their journey to their final destination—either Paradise or Hell.
