This study addresses the grammatical disagreement in the book of Al-Hakim Al-Jashmi (d. 494 AH) on the inflection of raised and lowered nouns, focusing on examples from the Qur'an that present issues of inflection that are disputed. The study shows that the grammatical disagreement stems from the different approaches of the Basrians and the Kufians in determining the function of inflectional factors, such as the function of in raising the subject and predicate, or the estimation of the conjunction on the place of the noun
