Muqarnas are among the most complex architectural systems in Islamic heritage, characterized by their three-dimensional, layered geometry and integration of structural and ornamental functions. Their complexity and vulnerability to deterioration render conventional documentation methods based on two-dimensional drawings and manual surveys inadequate. Despite the potential of digital technologies, integrated and accessible workflows for documenting muqarnas remain limited, particularly in the Iraqi context.
