Abstract

       The heritage lime unit in Baghdad is one of the main components of the city's heritage urban fabric. It is characterized by a set of characteristics at the urban levels that are consistent with the nature of the local community. However, due to modern changes, these planning and urban characteristics have undergone several transformations.

This research paper discusses the transformations of the heritage lime unit in Baghdad in particular, as it is one of the main components of the heritage urban fabric. Therefore, the specific research problem arises from the limited number of local studies that have addressed these transformations at the urban levels. The current research aims to shed light on the planning aspects of the transformations of the heritage lime unit, evaluate the impact of these transformations on the contemporary urban fabric
