Abstract

The research revolves around the Iraqi heritage with all its huge cultural heritage and a large cultural and urban system that played an important role in determining the identity of a country known for its rich cultural achievements, the Iraqi heritage witnessed and is still severely neglected that led to the loss and damage of many monuments and heritage materials due to the size of the destruction that affected it, and what made it worse was the absence of criminal protection for heritage compared to the effects that enjoyed legislation and laws over many historical decades until the issuance of the Antiquities and Heritage Law for the year 2002
