Abstract

Often, the term "Um Al-Bab" catches the reader's attention in the subject of Arabic grammar. This research studied the significance of this term and related terms that share the same concept. The research included an introduction discussing the topic, research plan, and sources used. It also included three sections:

1. The opinions of grammarians on letters that are commonly used as "Um Al-Bab", providing meanings to Arabic speech.
2. Tracking perfect and imperfect verbs that represented the gates of grammar.
3. Focusing on nouns in the nominative and accusative cases known as "Um Al-Bab" with clear meanings.

The conclusion of the research enriched with the results obtained in this field.
