Abstract

since the beginning of twentieth century , Iraq has witnessed divergence in the positions of Iraqi cities towards ottoman and British occupations ,some of them has witnessed events full of problems could not be calm otherwise using Iron Fist Policy, but others do not witnessed any thing , This continued until the occupier handed over power to the Iraqis. This research concentrated on the case of the situation of holy Najaf from 1914 until 1035. This city has more honest situations towards occupations , its men and sheikhs would be ready to defend Iraq that it has more effect on occupations authorities who they tried repeatedly to control the religious factor has the big role to stop against occupier because of the presence of religious men there ,specially beside Imam Ali shrine. the research contains important period that Najaf city has witnessed through which that the period of two occupations that they tried to  change Iraq to follow them , the reason of choosing Iraq is to shed light on the situation of  Iraqi people's as well as to defense against occupations in addition to the role of religious men in general. the research divided into three ones as
